Coming off of a very complicated year and two worldwide years that changed our view of just about everything, it’s time for less.
As I’ve said many times, I don’t do resolutions. I’ve never been one where if I tell myself to do something, that it happens. My rebellious streak runs deep. Are you really surprised?
I am, however, one for plotting a course for myself. Choosing a direction feels like a journey instead of a chore.
And this year? I want to sail into a simpler life. Less stuff, less noise, and less wasting of time. Not that I feel like we’ve done a lot of that. Snake and I tend to keep a good eye on what is important to us and what can be let go. But, of course, there is always room for improvement.
We’ve cleaned out a lot in the past year and a half. There’s still more to do. I feel like the more I find to let go of, the better our home feels. It’s more peaceful even in a crazy world. It’s our space where we can relax and be us.
The year of quite a bit of pausing a lot of our D/s stuff is ending. Saturday, in fact. It’s been the right thing to do to be available for other people, but the job is done. It’s time to move back to the dynamic where we are happiest. More naked Snake and lots more playtime.
2023 is going to be our year to return to and explore and add to us. Our .next if you will. There will be trips to share with you, many more games, and lots of O’s. Well, for me. Probably not nearly as many for him.
It’s time to simplify and play.
The ability to simplify means to eliminate the unnecessary so that the necessary may speak.
Hans Hofmann
I like the idea of simplifying. It’s broad in concept and flexible in execution, and it can apply in so many different ways.
