I’ve said before that September feels more like a new year than January 1st. I know that it’s from starting school each year because January was really just a continuation of the fall classes.
I admit that I always expect things to be different after Labor Day. It’s like there’s always a fresh start even though the year is almost 3/4 of the way finished. September is always the time when it feels like change is possible.
“The old summer’s-end melancholy nips at my heels. There’s no school to go back to; no detail of my life will change come the onset of September; yet still, I feel the old trepidation.”
Sara Baume
So for September, the prompt is going to be Changing it Up. Maybe it’s a decision to live more in the moment or something huge or somewhere in the middle.
