This is my first of the pictures that I’ll be posting from the Scrabble challenge. This is showing the marks for one of the tasks in the game. 😉
The Scrabblympics Results
I want to say up front, I LOVE these games. It pushes boundaries and limits, many times just physical “that much?!” type things and makes it a fun and, yes, exhausting weekend. It also pushes me as there’s nothing quite like plopping on the couch and asking if she’d like me to do one of my edging challenges now. Just… strange and weird and fun.. especially when she spins around to face me and has this grin on her face… [SSC: No clue what he’s talking about…]
Scrabble Challenge of Olympic Proportions
It’s been three months since the last Scrabble challenge. It might still be hot but summer is coming to an end and I thought it was time to break out the tiles again. Because, of course, I like nothing better than to drive him insane…. And we all know how much he LOVES Scrabble. [Oh yay! Scrabble! I LOVE Scrabble tiles. Someone hand me the matches!]

The Inspection Zone
I walk in the back door and you’re standing there with an envelope. You smile, hand me the envelope and walk away with a touch of your finger to my lips.
I put my things down and open the envelope.
Dancin’ (Most) of the Night Away
I see you across the club, having a drink, dancing with various people, just generally swaying to the music and having a great time. I, on the other hand, can’t take my eyes off you. You’re in this flirty-wispy short country-style skirt and have on boots and an incredible hat. Watching you dance, line dance and just, well, watching you is becoming hazardous. I’m pretty sure you’ve noticed me staring.
I’m doing my best to look away, to not be overly obvious. I grab some liquid courage and have a couple of drinks to take off my nervous edge, but when I look back, I can’t find you anywhere. I start to panic, thinking I’ve missed my chance. I slump into my chair and try to keep telling myself that you’ll be back. But I can’t help feeling like I totally blew it.
A Game [was] Afoot
Our recent weekend Scrabble challenge [and results] took place over Memorial Day weekend.
See? I can be involved in the challenge AND be patriotic.
Scrabble Part 3 – The Results
Well… THAT was fun!
We started out the weekend with a bang, but ran into time and, well, privacy constraints… but still made a go of it. The overall rules (linked above) said I had to get to at least 12 tiles.
But you have to know, going in, that in my heart, I’m an engineer. So you know too that I would be working out that magical nexus of risk/reward in terms of reducing or extending my wait time. Of course it’s based on letters actually picked, but it certainly becomes an issue as you work through the challenge.
