S is for Shadows

The tree near the water was enormous. The branch that reached across the small lake was almost as big as a tree itself.

There was absolute silence around here, broken up sporadically by a small rodent skittering by or a bird call. She felt alone and hidden from the world.

It was a big decision to make. Either way had pros and cons. And either way would be a new path. She leaned back and looked at the sky peeking through the trees.

Yes or no? Stay where she’d lived her entire life or go on a journey?

It was time for the next adventure and to move out of the shadows.

Yes.
