You’ve been thinking about the red under the dress all night. I let you watch me dress, your favorite red bra, bikini and garters, all hidden just barely. You watched me cross my legs and bend and flirt and laugh, knowing what was hidden from sight.
As we drive home, your hand rests on my knee, and my dress slides up just a bit as we drive over a bump. You can see the top of the stockings, just barely, and I see your hand tighten on the steering wheel.
Your finger snakes under my dress for a second before you catch my glance and almost imperceptible shake of the head. You place it back on my knee and continue to drive.
“Let’s stop for a drink,” I suggest just before we pass our favorite pub. It’s still early enough, but I can see the struggle as you want to protest. In the end, you park and we head in, but not before I give you a quick flash of the garters and bikini.
We sit at the bar and I cross my legs, making sure you catch a glimpse of red. We order and I turn to you while we wait for the drinks, batting my eyes. You roll yours just as the drinks arrive.
We clink glasses and I take the tiniest of sips, looking over the glass at you. I am pondering my options, trying to decide how long to draw out this tease, and you know exactly what I am doing. You look away, trying to act casual, but I know you are eager to get home.
I look at my nails, fluff my hair in the reflection of the mirror behind the bar and take another sip. I see you feign patience, but that little pulse in your neck is giving you away.
As I pick up my glass and down the rest in two gulps, I turn to you.
“Aren’t you ever going to finish? I thought you wanted to see me out of this dress.”
I’ve never seen you looking so lovely as you did tonight,Chris De Burgh
I’ve never seen you shine so bright,
I’ve never seen so many men ask you if you wanted to dance,
They’re looking for a little romance, given half a chance
