Bohemian Rhapsody

Yes, this could possibly be a really strange thought process even for me but it reminds me of our relationship. Why????

It starts off slow and melodic. Snake and I started as friends and became more.

It also has sad and difficult moments, which, of course, all relationships have. Tears and struggle but we came through them together and stronger for it.

It has crazy, silly parts and those are some of my favorite memories. The giggling after sex while we are cuddling, the inside jokes that make people think we’re crazy because we can’t stop laughing, the knowing smiles.

Beyond that, it is simply the fact that the song SHOULDN’T have worked or become as popular as it did. There are so few songs that are close to that length. It’s ballad, opera and rock put together in a way that is insane. There isn’t a clear story line and is left to each person to reflect on its meaning. And yet, is there a person out there who doesn’t start singing as soon as it comes on?

Length-wise, Snake and I have been together more of our lives than we haven’t. We shouldn’t have worked–we started dating in high school and managed to survive college and on. That’s pretty rare.

And realistically? I’m pretty sure that we are a pretty crazy mix of our own ballad, opera and rock with a bit of country thrown in for good measure. We push and pull and poke and challenge each other at every turn. We’ve had our moments where we felt like we had ruined everything with a decision but fought back together.

Is this the real life? Is this just fantasy?
Caught in a landslide, no escape from reality
Open your eyes, look up to the skies and see
I’m just a poor boy, I need no sympathy
Because I’m easy come, easy go, little high, little low
Any way the wind blows doesn’t really matter to me, to me

Real life? Fantasy? Definitely some landslides but no matter how the wind blows, he’s my person. Always.

And we do a damn fine Fandango….

Wicked Wednesday… a place to be wickedly sexy or sexily wicked

  1. I love Queen, and I love Bohemian Rhapsody and it has been the number 1 in THE annual chart of The Netherlands for YEARS. And now I also love how you have compared your life to the song. Beautiful post!

  2. It is an insane song and its ambiguity is such that people can read and relate to it in so many different ways. It’s a great description of how you relate to it.
